Clinical data: 63 year old man with colon carcinoma. Intraoperativelly a firm nodule (1.2 cm in diameter) in the duodenal wall was seen. Metastasis?

Frozen section diagnosis: Heterotopic pancreas in the duodenal wall.

Pathology and comment: Heterotopic pancreatic tissue may contain ducts, acini and/or islets. Involvement of all bowel layers is possible.
