Case #27

Clinical data: 26 year old male patient with a "kidney tumor".
Frozen section diagnosis: Pyelonephritis with necrosis and abscess.
Pathology and comment: Inflammatory lesions may mimick
tumors clinically. Excluding of renal cell carcinoma on frozen section
and after macroscopical examination of the nephrectomy specimen is
simple. Lymph dissection should not be carried out in the absence of tumor.
