Case #25










Clinical data: 65 year old woman with a tumor
in the subcutis of the right knee. Diameter 8cm.

Frozen section diagnosis: Malignant soft tissue tumor.
Probably malignant fibrous histiocytoma.

Pathology and comment: The above diagnosis was
confirmed on HE slides. For frozen section purposes the
diagnosis of malignancy is sufficient in the most cases.
Resection with wide margins is recommended.
