Case #22
Clinical data: 56 year old woman with an inguinal mass. Malignancy? Frozen section diagnosis: Ectopic breast tissue. No malignant tumor. Pathology and comment: Ectopic breast tissue can develop along the milk line. Also true mammary carcinomas can arise in the ectopic tissue (axilla, vulva). In this case a hamartoma of the ectopic breast tissue was seen on paraffin sections.
